Frequently Asked Questions
What is Christian counseling?
Aaron Shaffer is a Christian and member of a local church, he seeks to display love, truth, and grace in all relationships, both inside the counseling room and outside. Aaron seeks to show respect for each client and show each person the dignity that an image-beared of God deserves. The basics of Christian Counseling, in our opinion, is that the counselor is a Christian and sees the world, God, and all of life through a Biblical perspective.
Is therapy confidential?
For counseling to be most effective, the client needs to know that what is said during a counseling session is confidential. Confidentiality is very important to us. In counseling, you are able to risk being known and cared for in a safe environment. You are able to explore wounds, areas of shame, and other difficult issues with confidence, knowing that your story will be kept confidential. There are a few exceptions to confidentiality mandated by the state of Alabama, and these exceptions will be discussed in your first counseling session.
Who should come to counseling?
Counseling can be beneficial for all types of people. It can be helpful for those experiencing great pain or the person who is feeling well and simply wants to explore further growth.
